Introducing The Onyx Boox Nova Pro

Here on this blog I am always championing the use of eReaders, dedicated devices made for reading books, and so it makes sense that I already have had one (or a few) eReaders to recommend. I would like to introduce Onyx Boox, Onyx is a little known, but influential company in reading and professional circles. They make products unlike any other company, and they do it totally enthusiastically.

My favorite eReader currently is the Onyx Boox Nova Pro

The Nova Pro is probably one of the best eReaders on the market. It boasts full Android 6 implementation, a spacious 8inch screen (2 inches bigger than most competitors) and a crisp eink screen. Unlike other eReaders, the Nova Pro isn't just a one-trick pony.

eReaders like the Kindle or the Nook have just one purpose, though they perform it well, but Onyx devices are a full on work and productivity tool. The Nova Pro comes with a wacom stylus and touch layer that adds hand writing features that make it possible to completely replace any notebooks with this reading tablet.

This eReader also supports all Android 6 compatible applications. If you use Kindle, Nook, or Kobo to buy your books you can read all of your books on the device. Just install the application using the Play Store and get straight into reading! It really is amazing not being forced to use a certain store

Recently Onyx has come out with their, most anticipated, v2.3 update. Officially it isn't available for the Nova Pro, however I have an early access copy of the software. I can honestly say that any issues I had in the original software is completely gone. The much needed cloud integration has finally been added making it possible to view notes on your cellphone or computer using the Boox Assistant app.

This was a much wanted feature and just shows how much the company aims to please its users. They also added one of my very much anticipated features, Reading Statistics. Inside the reading statistics application the device tracks the number of books you have read as well as how often you have read certain books and the time it took to finish them. This helps if you like to track how much you read. For me I run this blog and "The Bookish Club" FaceBook book club so knowing how long I am taking on a book is crucial to my workflow.
